Sheri Saxe

Currently, I work with people of all ages, specializing with families in crisis, adolescents, children, and adults who have experienced trauma and are struggling to manage overwhelming emotions. My training includes EMDR, DBT, mindfulness practice, play therapy, and solution-focused therapy. I have been practicing therapy for over 35 years, and before moving into the private practice setting, I was a school counselor.

My approach is to begin with deep intense listening to try to understand your story as fully as I can. Often, suffering is caused by false beliefs and untrue or irrational thoughts. I work with clients to examine those thoughts so you can look at yourself and your life differently. My treatment is also focused on teaching you skills to help you feel better; Such as self-soothing, calming the body and mind, changing thought patterns from destructive to positive, and helpful/radical acceptance.

My style of working with people is gentle, safe, respectful, and compassionate with the goal of helping you find relief as soon as possible. I would like to support your journey. You do not have to do this alone.
