I work with adult women, specializing in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, grief, divorce adjustment and other emotional issues. Along with traditional talk therapy I am trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) which is an effective treatment for trauma and other emotional issues.
My approach is warm, gentle, and compassionate as well as informative, practical, and witty. I encourage clients to reflect on their ways of relating to the world, by gaining insight into how their thoughts, attitudes, emotions, and behaviors affect others. By working with each person’s individual needs, I help them connect more deeply to themselves and others and more effectively communicate their thoughts and feelings which can lead to a reduction in anxiety depression. I encourage my clients to set goals as part of the process of change and work hard to achieve those goals.
I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. Prior to earning my degree, I was an educator working in adult and alternative education. My other passion includes raising animals including horses. I provide Equine therapy to children with ADHD, PTSD and Autism.
